Meet the Doctors of Moody Family Chiropractic

Introducing Westfield Chiropractor Dr. David Moody
“I did experience a miracle, but I’ve seen many more,” states Dr. Moody.

“I first became familiar with chiropractic in 1992, when I sought help for a disc injury in my lower back. The quality of care I received made me decide I wanted to be a chiropractor.”

Dr. Moody is a cum laude graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic in Missouri. He interned at Castleton Chiropractic on 82nd Street and Allisonville Road during the last trimester of his schooling. In 2000, after graduation, Dr. Moody started his own practice at Gallagher Family Chiropractic in Carmel. In 2005, he added his second practice, Moody Family Chiropractic, here in Westfield. Dr. Moody has also been the chiropractor for the Indianapolis Ice hockey team since 2004.

Dr. Moody’s Westfield office specializes in manual full-spine adjustment and lumbar decompression therapies, chiropractic biophysics, Cox flexion distraction, instrument adjusting (a light force technique used for children and older patients), and spinal rehabilitation. His office also offers nutritional counseling to aid tissue healing and massage therapy.

Dr. Moody and his wife, Lydia, have three children, Corynne, Josie and Calvin. His children receive regular adjustments, which has helped them to never need vaccinations or antibiotics. (If that sounds interesting to you, please be sure to ask Dr. Moody to explain!)

“Thank you for visiting our site. I hope you have found the information helpful. If you have any questions, please call my office or click on the 'Email the Doctor' button at the bottom of every page.”

Introducing Westfield Chiropractor Dr. Darla Dalton

“My friends and family thought I was crazy when I said I was going to school to be a doctor of chiropractic.”

When asked why I became a chiropractor, I always tell the same story. “Several years ago when I was a junior in high school, a local chiropractor came to speak at career day. After listening to him explain what chiropractic is and how it works, I became very interested in chiropractic myself. I convinced my parents to take me to have my spine checked. After a thorough exam and x-rays, the chiropractor “adjusted” my spine.

The adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. In time I began noticing that, even though I didn’t think anything was wrong with me before, I was feeling much better now. The headaches and neck stiffness that I used to experience regularly became less and less frequent. The adjustments worked so well, I decided then that I would be a chiropractor some day. Oh yeah, and that local chiropractor is actually my father in-law now. I guess I owe chiropractic for a little more than just my great health.”

After graduating high school in 1996, Dr. Darla attended Indiana University to get the prerequisites needed for chiropractic school. Dr. Darla was valedictorian of her graduating class at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City in 2002, where she received a Bachelor of Human Biology as well as her Doctorate of Chiropractic. She has also completed advanced certification as a Pediatric Chiropractor from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Dr. Darla joined Indy Sports Chiropractic in Carmel for a short period in 2002 where she gained extensive experience and training in treating sports injuries. In 2003, she moved to southern Indiana with her husband, Jerad, who did his residency at the University of Louisville. While there, Dr. Darla practiced at Advantage Chiropractic in Georgetown, Indiana from 2003-2006. When her husband was accepted for fellowship at IU in Indianapolis, Dr. Darla joined her older brother, Dr. Moody, in practice here in Westfield in 2007.

Dr. Darla and her husband, Jerad, have a three year old daughter, Ava and a one year old son, Eli.  Ava and Eli have been under chiropractic care since the day they were born. Misalignments caused by the birth process can interfere with proper nervous system function which can have adverse effects on normal, healthy growth and development. Ava and Eli get adjustments from mommy (and their Uncle David) because they eat and sleep better and are less fussy when their bodies are “tuned up”.

Dr. Darla has completed coursework in a variety of techniques in order to serve people of all ages. Dr. Darla’s philosophy is the use of gentle, caring treatment to improve the well-being of her patients.
